ONOS TECHNOLOGY - FRAMES

Each Onos frame style features high quality construction in attractive styles designed to meet a wide variety of faces while offering a lightweight and comfortable feel.

Nylon Frames

Onos nylon frames are made from Grilamid TR-90 which is a homopolyamide nylon characterized by an extremely high alternative bending strength, low density and high resistance to chemical and UV damage.  The TR-90 frame also features a memory-flex ability for custom fitting and are virtually indestructible.

Our newest frames in the Ernest Hemingway Collection feature the TR-90 memory-flex frame with Italian spring flex hinges, rubber non-slip nose pads and a rubber brow for shock absorption.  These frames come in a variety of attractive patterns and colors.  They are also impact resistance -- COLTS Laboratories Peformance Certified ANSI Z87.1 Rated.

Metal Frames

Our Longitude, Latitude and Schooner Metal Frame styles features a gun-metal Memory Titanium+ Chassis with Soft Plastic Nose pads with handmade Acetate end tips for a superior fit.

Longitude Metal Frames offers super-flex memory metal temples providing a lightweight and fashionable option for those who prefer a stylish frame that is comfortable providing fit with function.

Latitude Metal Frames feature Hinged Temples that contours to facial features without manual manipulation of the frame.  The lightweight Titanium+ frame comes with non-slip nose pads for a custom fit. Rimless frame provides the style and fit for the performance oriented enthusiast.

Schooner Metal Frames feature Hingless Temples that contours to the facial features without manual manipulation of the frame.  The lightweight Titanium+ frame with non-slip nose pads for a custom fit.   As with the Latitude style, rimless frame provides the style and fit for the performance oriented enthusiast.

ONOS TECHNOLOGY - LENSES

All Onos lenses feature Polarized lens technology which reduces reflective glare for increased visual acuity.  Onos lenses all also 100% UVA-UVB protection.

CR-39 Polarized Lens

The majority of Onos styles feature opthalmic quality CR-39 Polarized lens technology for the best in optical clarity and lens peformance.  Each lens incorporates a Polarized filter which absorbs the horizontal light thus eliminating reflective glare which increases visual accuity giving you sharp, crisp, glare-free vision with increased contrast and depth perception while outdoors.

Hi-Vex Lens

Our new Ernest Hemingway Collection features a Opthalmic Quality HI-VEX Grey lens.  HI-VEX offers:

• POLARIZED lens providing the best in Optical Clarity
• 100% UVA/UVB Protection

Lens Colors

Most Onos styles are available in Four Lens Colors: Amber, Blue Mirror-Grey, Green Mirror-Amber and Grey - unless otherwise indicated in the product descriptions.

• Amber lens color is perfect for low-light conditions; early mornng, late evening or overcast conditions.
• Blue Mirror over Grey lens color is a perfect lens option for outdoor activities where reflective glare are most intense, such as snow skiing or boating on the water.  Reflective glare from snow or water is very damaging to the eyes when not protected, the Blue-Mirror coating offers 100% UVA/UVB protection and Polarized filter offers the outdoor enthusiast the best in sun wear protection.
• Green Mirror over Amber lens color is a better option for on land activities where the reflective glares are not as intense and more light is needed. As with the Blue Mirror over Grey lens, both coatings provide 100% UVA/UVB protection and Polarized filtration.
• Grey lens color is perfect for everyday, all day use.

There is a $10 additional cost for the Blue or Green Mirror coating.

ONOS TECHNOLOGY - POLARIZATION

When light is reflected it can become polarized and form "blinding glare," visual noise that interferes with the real image.  The results can be uncomfortable or even hazardous. Only polarized lenses block blinding glare, providing both visual comfort and safety.
